As she catches her rifle in the splits, senior Jeniffer Saucedo makes sure to portray emotion for the audience. The directors emphasized facial expressions during practice to prepare the performers for the moment they stepped on stage. "If you perform with emotion, the show comes alive and it's more entertaining to watch," Saucedo said.

With a face full of energy, senior Kara Shannon attempts to connect with the audience. In order to keep the audience engaged, a performer must make eye contact. "Mr. Powell always tells us that when we catch a flag or a rifle, to always pick someone in the audience and make eye contact with them," Shannon said.

At the end of her performance, senior Laurie Bengoa finishes strongly. This performance was the team's last "Family and Friends Show" before traveling to Ohio for a world competition. "It was nice to showcase all of our hard work to the people we love the most before going off to competition," Bengoa said.

Being introduced to the audience, junior Kay Greene waves at the full crowd. After their performance, every guard member was introduced to the audience and fun facts about them were revealed. "It was so much fun because they announced who was in NHS, what colleges we were going to, what our heights were and stuff like that," Greene said.
