TAPPI- The way that paper is perceived in a cool white and a filtered daylight environment. The ultra-violet light component of TAPPI brightness is the lowest of any standard. TAPPI brightness will provide the lowest number of any of the three scales and the numbers will rarely exceed 100%.

ISO- This is a European standard... illuminated with a mix of cool white fluorescence and some unfiltered daylight. ISO standard yeilds higher brightness versus TAPPI. Can exceed 100%.
